Young Photographer Competition

The Rotary's exciting and challenging competition for the town's young photographer is back. The competition is designed to get young people, children and teenagers alike to get out and about and think of the things that make a great photo including composition, lighting, colour and shade.

This year the theme is "The Beauty of Architecture"

Congleton has its share of amazing buildings, even so, there's no requirements for the photos to be taken locally. There is beauty in everything, from a school building, an old doorway, a row of terranced houses, a modern factory or an old Tudor building. It's all about the eye of the photographer.

The free-to-enter competition is open to children and young people aged from 7 to 17 years of age on August 31 2022. The competition is for digital photos, taken with a camera or smartphone.

The photo must be the exclusive work of the entrant.

Only one entry is allowed per person. Parents or teachers should send entries by email to Rotary's photographer, John Gauld, who is organising the competition  to arrive before November 30th. His email addrees is

john@johngauldphotography.co.uk

The digital photograph should be a minimum of 1500 pixels on the long side. The file size should be no more than 5MB

Emails should state the name and age of the entrant at 31st August 2022

By entering the competition, parents and teachers agree that we can use the image in publicity and that winners will be photographed at a presentation to receive their prizes.

Rotary will print a selection of the entries and arrange an exhibition in Congleton libray at Christmas to display them. The competion is completely free to enter and Rotary will cover the cost of printing the entries.
